As an expectant parent, you may be contemplating a baby gender test. Current technology is still limited to amniocentesis and CVS testing as being the most accurate testing protocol that is capable of providing gender confirmation. But these two tests are not without risk to the fetus and are used in connection with detecting any genetic disorders based on family history or the age of the mother-to-be. They are generally never offered as a means of gender testing for its own sake.
Many parents want to learn their baby’s sex beforehand for a variety of reasons and don’t want to wait until the sonogram for results. Of course, there are the kindly relatives and curious strangers who offer their unsolicited opinion, but that’s what they generally are, just opinions. With the new baby gender test kits now being sold on the market, there’s a possibility that the wait may be over.
The ultrasound sonogram remains the most widely used baby gender test which offers the greatest level of accuracy next to the invasive medical testing procedures of amniocentesis and CVS. Sonograms have become a routine examination in the course of pre-natal care and is widely available. However, most mothers-to-be have to wait until the 20-week mark before an ultrasound can detect the necessary identifying factors for gender.
For those who don’t want to wait, there are early gender detection test kits are now on the market. Designed to detect the presence of male or female DNA material or other proprietary criteria as early as five weeks of pregnancy, these are highly touted as being the answer to the far-off ultrasound exam. However in terms of accuracy, the jury is still out.
Using an early baby gender test kits such as Intelligender and Pink or Blue Early Gender Test can certainly provide entertainment value, but until the technology is perfected, there is not enough evidence that it is 100% reliable for purposes of planning your nursery.

This kit tests your urine for the presence of certain substances and will change colors that you can then compare against a color-coded guide. Results can be seen within ten minutes. You can perform this test at around six weeks after you miss a period or in the second month of pregnancy. While it can be fun to find out early, keep in mind that your results may or may not be confirmed by a sonogram.
Pink or Blue is an early pregnancy testing kit that is packaged along with a gender testing kit. The baby gender test is optional and requires a separate payment to the lab where you must send your sample to.for testing.
