For those couples who are trying to conceive a boy the chances of them having one are much higher than they think. When it comes to statistics a couple has a much higher chance of having a boy than they are a girl. However, by learning about when is the best time to conceive a boy can further increase these chances for them.
There are a number of different methods that such couples can try that will further increase their chances of them conceiving a boy rather than a girl. In this article we take a look at two such methods which couples may want to consider trying when they are trying to have a baby and want it to be a boy. Both methods clearly define the times although they are different when it is best to conceive a boy.
Method 1 – Shettles Method
This particular technique aims to ensure that the sperm which contains Y chromosomes is able to reach the egg before the sperm carrying the X chromosomes is able to. The sperm carrying the Y chromosomes tend to move much more quickly than the sperm that contains the X chromosomes so this is something which needs to be taken into careful consideration when a couple are trying to have a baby which is a boy.
In Dr Shettles book “How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby: The Method Best Supported by Scientific Evidence”, he recommends that couples have intercourse within the 24 hour period when a woman’s has begun to ovulate and also that it shouldn’t take place 12 hours after her ovulation period has ceased.
As well as giving such specific time periods for when couples should have intercourse in if they want conceive a boy is to ensure that the man penetrates the woman as deeply as possible. This way the more aggressive sperm containing the Y chromosomes is closer to the cervix and means that they get a head start in the fertilization of the egg.
Method 2 – Whelan Method
This method was devised by Dr Whelan as she wanted to disprove the method mentioned above. If a couple want to have a boy then she feels that having intercourse during the early part of a woman’s monthly cycle is crucial. In research carried out it has been found that 68% of the time those couples trying to conceive a baby boy have been able to do so following her method.
There are many various opinions and techniques that people will suggest to couples about when is the best time to conceive a boy. Certainly it is these couples which have tried them and found them to provide them with the results that they wanted. Some couples make changes to their diet and incorporate more salty snacks and red meat into it. Whilst other couples who are trying to have a baby boy will get the men to drink coffee prior to them making love.
